Catering

How do I place an order?

Our catering department is open Monday–Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Whether it’s to place an order or just ask a few questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call! You can reach us at (415) 454-9840, or by email at catering@comfortscafe.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Can I prepay?

We require a credit card number for all orders. Your order will be charged on the day of your pick-up. Please fill out our Credit Card Authorization Form to place your order. Return the form during catering hours (8:30am to 4:30pm) , otherwise we will not be able to complete the transaction.

Can I cancel an order?

If you need to cancel your order, please do so 48 hours prior to your order to avoid cancellation charges. Late cancellations may result in partial or full charges.

Do you deliver?

Food delivery is available for a fee, Monday to Friday, from 9:00am – 4:00pm, for orders over $200. Delivery slots fill up quickly on a first come, first serves basis, so pre-booking is recommended. Weekend deliveries are made by special arrangement at an added cost. We also offer ‘set-up’ services at an additional $25-$50 (based on menu).

A 5% transport charge will be applied to all orders over $500.00 for delivery.

Please note: Delivery fees vary depending on the quantity of items ordered, location and ease of access.

What is an administration fee?

An administration fee is applied to certain catering orders to help cover expenses for administrative correspondence, menu planning, event planning and logistics, site visits, staff scheduling, the use of Comforts’ equipment (including cleaning before and after), and other travel expenses. The administration fee is not a gratuity.

Do you take cafe reservations?

We do not take reservations because of our limited space. To be fair to all our customers, we ask that your complete party be present before being seated.

Can you accommodate special diets or allergies?

Special requests are always welcome in our cafe. We try to accommodate special diets and allergies in both our cafe and daily marketplace menu.

What are "healthy choice" dishes?

Our “Choice” options recognize our customers’ concerns for eating healthy ingredients and portions, and are made low in fat, sugar and salt.

Do you have information on your ingredients and sourcing?

We take pride in our menu, which changes weekly, relying heavily on seasonal offerings. All our bakery items are made fresh, in-house daily, using only the freshest and highest quality ingredients.

Our beef comes from BN Ranch – raised in Northern California, untreated and without hormones, this natural, organic, and sustainably-raised beef has the reputation for being the most tender and best tasting beef around. From our juicy burgers to braised short ribs you’ll be able to taste the quality and difference yourselves!

We use organic and/or air-chilled poultry from Mary’s Chicken, all-natural, free-range, hormone-free chicken for all our entrées and salads, including the famous Chinese Chicken Salad, and we source our seafood approved by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program.

We use rice bran oil for deep-frying and sunflower or olive oil for all other uses.

Do you make charitable donations?

We regularly donate to our community – local schools, educational programs, and non-profits throughout the Bay Area. Each year, we donate approximately $15,000 in food and monetary contributions. To request a charitable donation, please send a letter to:

Include the following information in your letter:

  • Request should be on company letterhead
  • Date of the event
  • What the event/campaign hopes to achieve (ie. who it benefits, etc…)
  • What type of donation is requested (monetary or food-related)
  • When the donation is needed by

Please note, we are only able to donate to Marin-based organizations. We receive many requests throughout the year. In order to accommodate as many of those requests as possible, we are only able to donate once to an organization per fiscal year.
